FIFA has announced Canada Celebrates, a national coast-to-coast celebration tour connected to the FIFA World Cup 2026, and Halifax has been selected as the East Coast launch location.

The Canada Celebrates tour will feature up to 40 community celebrations across the country, kicking off simultaneously on June 11 on both the West Coast (British Columbia) and the East Coast in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

What is Canada Celebrates?

Canada Celebrates is a series of free, public events designed to bring the excitement of the FIFA World Cup into communities across Canada. Each stop will transform a public space into a vibrant gathering place where fans of all ages can come together to celebrate the beautiful game.

In Halifax, fans can expect:

  • A two-day event, June 11 and 12 –  Live match viewings on large screens

  • Football-themed interactive zones

  • Cultural and music performances

  • Family-friendly activities

  • Local food and community programming

The event will be free and open to the public. FIFA is working closely with Soccer Nova Scotia and partners to confirm a central, welcoming location. TSN will be broadcasting nationally, shining a spotlight on Nova Scotia’s soccer community.

FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour – Coming to Halifax

In addition to Canada Celebrates, Halifax will also host the official FIFA World Cup Trophy as part of the World Cup Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola.

  • Halifax dates: May 23, 2026

  • The Trophy Tour will visit only seven cities across Canada

  • Event attendee information to follow

This is a rare, once-in-a-generation opportunity for players, families, coaches, referees, and fans to see one of the most iconic trophies in global sport right here in Nova Scotia.

A Special Moment for Soccer in Nova Scotia

Together, Canada Celebrates and the World Cup Trophy Tour represent a unique moment for our province. For many in our soccer community, this will be the closest experience to the FIFA World Cup on home soil, as Canada prepares to co-host the tournament in 2026.

Soccer Nova Scotia is proud to support these initiatives and to help showcase the passion, diversity, and strength of soccer across our province on a national stage.

More details – including locations, schedules, and ticketing information- will be shared as plans are finalized.
