Grassroots is the most important part of the player pathway. This is where we give children their first experience in soccer. Ensuring that this experience is fun, enjoyable and safe is essential.

Players of all ages and abilities should have the opportunity to enjoy the game of soccer and grow as participants and people. Through Long Term Player Development (LTPD) players will be able to learn and compete at appropriate levels throughout their lives.

Soccer Nova Scotia is excited to announce the launch of the Grassroots Development Program (GDP). Over the last few months we have been reviewing the feedback received from our clubs & working to improve the grassroots soccer experience for all of our members across the province. This new program led by Soccer NS staff will support clubs in developing & improving both their programs & coaching standards, which will ultimately improve the grassroots membership experience for all.

The GDP is open to clubs, but will mainly be focussed on clubs in rural communities, without full time staff. The initiative will be led by Zach Bauld, Director of Grassroots & Community Programming.
